These are vertical leg crunches which you do by lying on your back with your legs held at a 45 degree angle from the floor. Men can also develop more core strength by doing leg lifts and crunches with the help of an exercise ball. Exercise balls are great because they force you to maintain your balance, which then makes all of your core muscles work harder. For muscle symmetry, be sure to work your back muscles as well.

Yoga also includes stretching and breathing exercises. These relieve your muscle tension and reduce the production of cortisol and thus the deposits of belly fat. Because, yoga places an emphasis on flowing and relaxed movements, men can benefit from yoga to calm the mind, slow down the heart, and lower blood pressure. And as a plus for men who want to use exercises to lose belly fat, many yoga poses have a powerful effect in toning your core midsection.

Look for poses that are done in the supine position, or seated and standing poses that require you to extend your legs and maintain balance.   98. I can speak from experience, eating properly (foods made from whole ingredients, cooking yourself, eating the right portions) helped far more to keep the weight down than exercise.

    However…exercise, even light exercise, helped hugely with being able to control my appetite. It's hard to explain, but put simply: exercise helped me store energy, and with energy stored, less often did I feel the need to eat to restore energy (keeping calories and poor nutrition intake down).

    The two go hand-in-hand. I wish people would understand that exercise doesn't mean marathon running and that diet doesn't mean starving. It's very easy to lose weight with modest portion control and by simply walking more often.
